How does the design process work?
- First, we will get to know you and your family, your lifestyle, what inspires you, your hobbies, how your family lives in your home and the spaces we will be designing.
- Next, the yZiGN team will start the design concept development where we present digital design visualization to you. This allows you to better visualize your space, collaborate with our team and provide feedback.
- Once the design is approved, our yZiGN team will present your Product List for review and approval. Once the Product List is approved, our team will coordinate and place your order. The delivery of the furniture can take up to 12-16 weeks.
- We will coordinate and oversee any necessary construction with our vetted network of home improvement specialists. After the construction is completed, we will schedule the furniture installation day - the big reveal!
How long does a Project take from start to finish?
- The length of the Project depends on your Interior Design project scope. Smaller projects could take as little as a couple weeks to a couple months, while our larger projects could take several months to a year – depending on the overall size and design complexity of the project. We recommend that you start with a Discovery Call with Iwona and Alex and they will walk you through what Interior Design Package they recommend for you.
What brands do you include in the yZiGN designs?
- We source from 100+ furniture manufacturers to find the perfect pieces that fit your lifestyle. Our designers spend time working with our clients to fully understand the scope of work and how their homes fit their lifestyle. Whether we incorporate existing furniture and home décor with some new specialty pieces or we design your entire home from scratch – we have the experience and extensive connections to design your perfect space. We appreciate that no two homes are the same, so we partner with sought-after brands, up-and-coming furniture designers and local artisans to ensure every design is uniquely tailored to our clients style.
Can I include furniture and other décor I already own in my design?
- Absolutely. Our designers understand that our homes are a reflection of who we are and an evolution of what inspires us. When we work with our clients, we believe in a multi-layered, sensory approach. How you feel and how you react to a space as you enter, is our guide. So we are happy to incorporate existing furniture and home décor that you own and love. And, then we layer in some new specialty pieces that compliment your style and personality.
Can yZiGN add window treatments to my design?
- Yes, we source custom window treatments from one of the most luxurious brands in the nation or we can work with a brand of your choice. Our team at yZiGN is also able to handle install of your window treatments.
Which rooms or space can I design with yZiGN?
- Our yZiGN designers incorporate a wealth of experience into every space they design. From kitchens and family rooms to home offices and nurseries - we work with any indoor and outdoor living space, new construction and renovation projects. No project is too big or too small. Our designers transform spaces and create imaginative environments that are thoughtful, personal and quietly comfortable.
Do you handle commercial spaces or just residential spaces?
- Our team at yZiGN is experienced in both residential and commercial spaces. From office buildings and retail spaces to restaurants and other public environments. Our designers have extensive experience in the commercial space and would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with you.
What will be discussed during our Discovery Call or 1^st Meeting?
- Our yZiGN team will ask about you and your project, to better understand your personality and the scope of work you are looking for. During the call we will decide together if our Interior Design Firm is a good fit for you. Your relationship with your designer is an intimate one and a very important partnership. We will be spending a lot of time together and you should feel very comfortable with your choice.
Who will be the Interior Designer I will be working with?
- No matter which Interior Design Package you choose to go with, your lead designer will always be Iwona Petrov. We have other designers in our company who support Iwona – but, she will be your point of contact and the lead designer on all projects. The project manager on all projects is Alex Petrov.
How will we communicate with each other during the entire design and install process?
- It is our goal at yZiGN to make the Interior Design process easy, fun, inspirational, and seamless for our clients. We are set up to communicate with you in any way that it is most preferable to you - audio and video calls, emails, text messages, client online portal, or meet with you in-person.
Do you work with new construction and/or extensive remodeling construction on an existing residential home or commercial project?
- Yes, we are an end-to-end Interior Design Studio, fully capable of handling your project no matter how big or small. Our team at yZiGN has extensive experience with new construction design and finish selections, as well as remodeling projects on an existing residential home or commercial property. We will work closely with you from initial design to project completion, recommending and managing construction specialists and installers from our extensive strictly vetted network.
My project is not in the Washington DC Metro Area, can I still work with yZiGN?
- Absolutely. Though the majority of our business is conducted in the Washington DC Metro Area, we have traveled around the country and abroad for our clients. We can travel to your project and work with you in-person or we can deliver our services entirely virtually, depending on your preference.
Can I use your services virtually due to COVID-19 health concerns?
- Yes, absolutely. Our design process can be executed and delivered entirely virtually.
